Nature:Medium strong acid. Inorganic compound, soluble in water and alcohols. Decomposes in contact with alcohols, aldehydes, cyanides, ketones, phenols, esters, sulfides or halogenated organics. Generates toxic fumes. Leaches many metals. Generates flammable and explosive gases.     

Application: Used as reducing agent, nylon whitening agent, also used as raw material of phosphite, pesticide intermediates and raw material of organophosphorus water treatment chemicals. Mainly used for prostate hypertrophy caused by urinary disorders. It is a highly selective α1A receptor blocker.
