Nature:A colorless, flame-resistant liquid with a sweet taste and a strong chloroform-like odor. Insoluble in water, it can be miscible with alcohol, ether, petroleum ether, halogenated hydrocarbon, carbon disulfide and most other organic solvents.
Application:Used as solvent and analytical reagent, mainly used as raw material of trichloroethylene and tetrachloroethylene in industry. Used in the production of metal cleaning agents, pesticides, herbicides, solvents and so on. Measure refractive index. Crystallographically used as an infusion. Biologically used to cause kidney, liver, and gastrointestinal tract lesions. Paint rust remover. Theobromine was determined in cocoa beans.
