Nature:White needle-like crystals or flaky powder. Slightly odorous with phenol. Soluble in ethanol, acetone, ether, benzene, and dilute alkaline solutions; slightly soluble in carbon tetrachloride; almost insoluble in water.

Application:Bisphenol A is used in the production of epoxy resins, polycarbonates, polyester resins, polyphenylene ether resins, and polysulfone resins. It can also be used as a stabilizer for polyvinyl chloride, an antioxidant for plastics, a UV absorber, an agricultural fungicide, and a rubber antioxidant. Furthermore, it can be used as an antioxidant and plasticizer in paints and inks.
