Nature:A colorless, transparent liquid with an odor similar to ethanol.

Application:Propanol is used as a solvent or in the synthesis of propyl acetate, as well as in coatings, printing inks, cosmetics, etc. It is also used in the production of n-propylamine, an intermediate in pharmaceuticals and pesticides, and in the production of feed additives and synthetic fragrances. In the pharmaceutical industry, propanol is used to produce probenecid, sodium valproate, erythromycin, dimethoprim, the adhesive hemostatic agent BCA, thiodimethylamine, dipropyl 2,5-pyridinedicarboxylate, etc. Various esters synthesized from propanol are used in food additives, plasticizers, fragrances, and many other applications. Derivatives of n-propanol, especially di-n-propylamine, have many applications in pharmaceutical and pesticide production, used to produce pesticides such as sulfadiazine, fenvalerate, isoprothiophanate-methyl, metsulfuron-methyl, sulfadiazine, and fluoxetine.
