Nature:A colorless liquid with an alcoholic odor. Miscible with ethanol, ether, and many other organic solvents.
Application:1-Butanol is primarily used in the manufacture of 1-butyl phthalate, dibutyl phthalate, aliphatic diacids, and phosphoric acid, which are widely used in various plastic and rubber products. It is also a raw material for the organic synthesis of butyraldehyde, butyric acid, butyl acetate, butylamine, and butyl lactate. Furthermore, it is an extractant for the production of melamine resins, acrylic acid, oils, pharmaceuticals (such as antibiotics, hormones, and vitamins), and fragrances, as well as an additive for alkyd resin coatings. Additionally, it can be used as a solvent and dewaxing agent for organic dyes and printing inks.
