二甲基亚砜

Dimethyl Sulfoxide

CAS NO.:67-68-5

MF:C2H6OS

MW:78.13

Nature:It is a colorless liquid at room temperature and is hygroscopic. It is almost odorless and has a bitter taste. It is soluble in water, ethanol, acetone, ether, benzene, and chloroform.

Application:With high selective extraction capabilities, dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) is used as a polymerization and condensation solvent for acrylic resins and polysulfone resins, a spinning solvent for the polymerization of polyacrylonitrile and cellulose acetate, an extraction solvent for the separation of alkanes and aromatics, and a reaction medium in the extraction of aromatics and butadiene, acrylic fiber spinning, plastics, organic synthetic dyes, and pharmaceutical industries. In medicine, DMSO has anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects and strong skin penetration, thus dissolving certain drugs and allowing them to penetrate the body for therapeutic purposes. Utilizing this carrier property, DMSO can also be used as an additive in pesticides. Adding a small amount of DMSO to certain pesticides helps them penetrate plants, improving their efficacy. DMSO can also be used as a dyeing solvent, dye remover, and dyeing carrier for synthetic fibers. It can also be used as an absorbent for recovering acetylene and sulfur dioxide, a synthetic fiber modifier, an antifreeze agent, and as a capacitor dielectric, brake fluid, and rare metal extractant.
