Nature:A colorless or slightly brownish oily liquid, solid at low temperatures. Soluble in water, alcohols, and ethers; insoluble in alkanes, benzene, toluene, etc.

Application:Methanesulfonic acid is a raw material for pharmaceuticals and pesticides. It can also be used as a dehydrating agent, a coating curing accelerator, a fiber treatment agent, a solvent, and a catalyst for alkylation, esterification, and polymerization reactions. It is used as a solvent and a catalyst for alkylation, esterification, and polymerization reactions, as well as a pharmaceutical intermediate. A 70% concentration is used in electroplating.
