Nature:A colorless liquid. Miscible with ethanol and ether, soluble in acetone, and insoluble in water.

Application:It is used as an intermediate in organic synthesis for the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, pesticides, and dyes; in the plastics industry, it is used as a plasticizer to improve flexibility and is also used in the preparation of biodegradable polyesters. In coatings and inks, it is used as a high-boiling-point solvent to improve leveling and film formation. Due to its fragrance, it is used in food and daily chemical flavorings, and can also be used as a stationary phase in gas chromatography and a special lubricant.
